The casino said the decision is a precautionary measure that will begin March 19, affecting all of its gaming, restaurant and busing operations in Yuba County. All events through April 15 are also canceled.
“Our highest commitment is to the safety and well-being of our guests, team members and partners,” said Glenda Nelson, chairwoman of the Enterprise Rancheria Tribe. “We have been working closely with local, state and Tribal authorities to monitor this situation and ensure we have consistently implemented procedures to meet all requirements related to COVID-19. As the largest employer in Yuba Sutter Counties, we have invested significantly in this region and believe it best to adopt this measure at this time.”
Hard Rock said there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on its premises. Increased sanitizing stations will be added to the property as a result of spreading coronavirus concerns.
Hard Rock said it will continue compensation and benefits for its employees during the closure. Around 70 percent of its employees reside in Sacramento, Yuba and Sutter counties.
Other casinos that announced closures include Thunder Valley, Red Hawk, Jackson Rancheria and Harrah's Northern California.
